On April 23th I bought a SanDisk ULTRA II 2GB microSD memory card in eBay to a user named fastmemoryman. 4 weeks later I was contacted by other buyer in the list telling me that he had the suspicion that we have been fooled, and that nobody in the buyer's list had received the micro card. After initial investigation I agree. This blog will serve as a central point for information and communication between affected users to share their experience and getting this situation solved

And another victim had fallen into his web...ME...
This time for a amd cpu 3200...
And indeed, after the waiting for 45days you've got nowhere to go...

The cpu was bought on May 15th...still hasn't arrived and it never will arive it seems...

Anonymous said...

Yes he does (hey, you asked it, didn't you :-)

Ordered (and unfortunately paid) an amd cpu in May, still waiting...

This one is a fraud !
And if eBay continue let him do his bizniz, they're as responsible as he is in my opinion !

Why don't we all file a complaint via : https://complaint.ic3.gov/Default.aspx

If all his victims file a complaint, something must happen, not ?

I have been fucked around by this person for close to 6 mths, I ordered a "150x 4gig CF" card, only ran at 4mb/s not the claimed 20mb/s that was back in April, sent it back for exchange (should have kept it) and I'm still waiting for the new card. I am now sending daily emails to the fuckwit. I doubt I'll ever receive the item just want to piss him off...

I have found you thanks to another eBayer fooled by fastmemoryman. Thank you for all the nice hints. I'm trying to get a refund for two items and filing a request to PayPal following your guidelines. Bye!

I have been using ebay for 8 years. I never got ripped-off, even once, until last month when I bought something from fastmemoryman i.e. EMARTBUY LTD
On August 10, 2007 I purchased a SD memory card for $38.50 Total. I received the card on Aug 18, 2007.
The card was NOT in a brand new sealed box as the eBay item description stated. I tried the card in three different devices and it was not functioning. One of those devices was a brand new smartphone with the most up-to-date firmware available, so obviously there were no compatibility issues on my end. I asked for a refund.
On August 24, I sent the card back to EMARTBUY a.k.a. fastmemoryman USPS insured mail, costing me $2.95
On September 3, I received an email from the seller stating that the card had been received by them.
I asked for a refund as far back as August 18 and no refund had been issued to me.
On September 7, I opened a dispute with PayPal claims against the seller.
Then the seller told me, that he could not refund until I closed the dispute. THIS IS IN DIRECT OPPOSITION TO EVERYTHING PAYPAL SAYS ABOUT HANDLING A DISPUTE. PAYPAL SPECIFICALLY STATES NOT TO CLOSE A CLAIM UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN REFUNDED.
It is now September 14, 2007 and I have not received a refund, the seller refuses to send me a refund, so I have decided to escalate the claim.
I am so pissed.,,,,,,,,, I decided to report this criminal "fastmemoryman" to the federal police and any other agency or entity that might eventually bring this criminal down. If you wish to be added to my list of people ripped-off by this criminal please email me at

I ordered 2 CPU/Memory/Motherboard bundles from FastScamMan last year. Only one arrived so I contacted the Birmingham UK depot and they sent the other one a few days later. To be fair, they worked very well, so a couple of months later I ordered 2 more, this time without the memory. When they arrived both were DOA. I attempted to find out the cause rather than send them back to The States at my expense so I fitted one of The AMD 3700+ CPU's into another machine. The machine booted but only at 800mhz instead of 2.4Ghz. So I ran CPUID on it and The CPU turned out to be an AMD Engineering sample. In fact both of them did as well as the other 2 that worked O.K. I opened a dispute with PayPal but they were useless and insisted that I get a report from a reputable company on headed paper at my expense and non refundable!! I just gave up at this point and threw the CPU's and Motherboards to one side.

Then, a few months later I read on a Tech site that what this guy does is to reflash the motherboards Bios from the original PCChips M861G to a similar Bios from an EliteGroup motherboard and this apparently sees the CPU as a 3700+. At this stage I decided to Hot Flash the boards as I considered it possible that the flash he'd done had gone wrong. I removed the First Bios chip and the problem became obvious. The stupid twat had put it in the wrong way round thus killing it...the other board was the same. Unduanted, I found a site that sells blank Bios chips for a fiver and managed to hot flash them both into working condition. This guy seems to have an endless supply of AMD Engineerung CPU's as many others have reported the same thing. It taught me a lesson and I won't deal with anybody with less than 99.9% now.

A terrible nasty con-artist. You will never get any satisfaction from this criminal. Most of his feedback on ebay looks good because the goods happen to work, but if you get a dud the following happened to me.

1) Seller said I would have to air mail item to the USA when it had orgiginated in the UK where I live.
2) The seller then sent a second e mail to me when I complained about this which gave the UK sales agent and said that I had misread the original e mail
3) The seller stalls so that all the routes for complaint via ebay expire.
4) Nearly two months after the purchase and getting on for a month after I returned it I received an e mail saying the item would be sent in 5-6 days.
5) I recently reminded the seller of this and their response has been to suggest that I take steps to have the negative feedback left for them mutually removed from ebay before they shipped the item. This is a kind of blackmail.
6) The other option given was a refund under their terms and conditions which I have said I want, although they have a 14 days return policy. I think that this will be given as an excuse for not giving a refund.

I'm nearly 30 pounds sterling down on this sale, I've waited nearly two months and have nothing to show for it. Any ebay trader who was remotely honest would have sent out alternative goods or a refund. I have written to ebay about this but they are very timid about doing anything and all the official channels have expired anyway.

My ebay user name is engelbert1967

I've had 1 successful transaction with fastmemoryman so I ordered again in trust of the last order being fine..

..i was mistaken, I ordered 2x 1gb sticks and he sent me 2x 256mb sticks of ram which were labelled as 1gb each.

Anyone else had the same problem?

I'm not holding out much hope of a refund after finding this website :(

I'm waiting 5 weeks for an Opteron 170 now. I've complained two weeks ago, they claimed that the package will arrive "soon". I guess they have different perception of time.
Anyway, reading thought feedback notes, I've noticed hint to google fastmemoryman, just in time to open a paypal dispute. Thank you, shame on fastmemoryman.
BTW, nobody who bought the processor in that auction haven't got any feedback from fastmemoryman, so I guess it's another completely fake auction.

I'm the next one to speak up. I'm a damn fool, who has let to be tricked by the b@st@rd. Purchased DDR memory on 11.10, paid it via paypal, nothing since then. Then I believed his lies about the 45 business days, so now I'm fcuked up. I gave away 53 euros. Just sucks...
Suit the @sshole, file complaints, escalate via paypal and ebay, make him a hard living in every fcuking possible way...

Glad to see the word is getting out! Over a year ago I started fastmemorymanSUCKS.com to coax Google into indexing some useful pages about him, other than all his auctions. It seems to have had the desired effect (i.e., showing derogatory information).

You've done a better job at this than I can manage, with all the updates, comments, etc. Even so, I see lots of activity in my mailbox about or because of him: most recently I was accused of hosting a PayPal phishing site, of all things. Before that, eBay threatened me if I didn't take down his name and info. But note how Chetan shows up all over the web anyway.

I may be contacted at yes@fastmemorymansucks.com to explore options to spread the word.

Luckily, i found this blog. It really help. That fucker needs to be taught a lesson. My only hope is that Ebay would suspend his account indefinitely. No use having an asshole cheating people on ebay.

I was able to get a favorable ruling from PayPal and will be receiving a full refund with no "restocking fees".

I was successful because I documented everything. When returning items I used signature confirmation.

I have dealt with FastMemoryMan twice now. The first time I bought laptop memory that did not work. They replaced it with working memory. I thought it was an anomoly. The second time I bought some desktop memory that didn't work. I had reason to suspect that my computer required matched pairs so I made another purchase which did not work.

I then purchased memory from another seller that worked fine and have subsequently purchase yet MORE memory from another seller that also worked fine. Clearly, FastMemoryMan sells JUNK. I am a computer consultant and his is the only memory that I have received that did not work in my entire career. In the end, of five sticks of memory that I purchased from FastMemoryMan, three were bad!!

Document everything and be patient. You might get your money back like I did.

I just got my money back from paypal, after more than 2 months (I should have pushed harder), and although the refund was full in GBP, I've actually lost some 15% in CZK (nobody's fault, but it suxx anyway).

I strongly suggest you calculate your own feedback stats, using only last month - and suddenly, fastmemoryman does not have 98.2% satisfied, but only 95.9% - meaning the percentage is now pretty low for a power seller, and also meaning that it is declining.

This is a warning to all of those who are interested or wants to buy
from this seller.

The items he sell are refurbished parts that have previously been
faulty - they are NOT new!

I recently purchased a 1GB memory from this guy and not only did two
of the data lines on the PCB have a short making it in operable on my
laptop, it was shipped in a non-antistatic plastic wrapper with what
appears to be a glue like substance smeared across one of the IC chips
on the PCB.

The worst thing of all is that I was told that if I wanted a refund I'll have to return it within 14 days of receiving it (the
item took 15 days to be shipped to me!) + I'll have to pay for
postage (there and back) + lose 15% of purchase cost to "restocking fee" (more like 15% for them to buy another faulty part and con another unsuspecting ebayer!). That is down right unfair and not ethical!

You may be lured in by the fact of number of postive feedback this guy
has (as I was) but the fact of the matter is that he has had over 2000
negative complaints. Moral of the story is not only do you not buy
from Fastmemoryman but be sure to inspect the number of negative
feedbacks of a any seller before commiting to a purchase (regardless
of the number of postive feedbacks).

I hope this will prevent other buyers from falling into the same trap
as I did

PS. Raise a dispute with paypal against this guy to no avail so don't think you'll be safe paying with Paypal either!

Still waiting on £36s worth of RAM, when i asked 'Has it been sent yet?' or 'When will it be sent?' i get a 3 word reply with no direct answer. The item was listed as being in the UK, its pretty obvious it isnt. After reading the replies here i dont want the RAM now.

If the item hasnt arrived by Monday (3 days time) then im raising a claim via Paypal first thing.

First time ive had this trouble on eBay :/ Thank you for blogging this and confirming my suspicions, i will act accordingly.

I got stiffed for the equivalent of $180 by fastmemoryman a couple of years ago, it seems his victims are getting a bit more organised nowadays, I got practically nowhere at the time.

I'm not about to relay my entire story here, as its very long and I'm thoroughly sick of talking about this creep.

Fortunately, I wrote a very thorough review of my experiences with fastmemoryman and posted it as a guide on eBay reviews & guides! It's still there, feel free to look at it, link to it and quote from it!

hi i have just ordered my 2x 2gb micro sd and after 10 days they still havent arrived. he has all this bad feedback , how come he has loads of good feedback? can anyone answer that please?

Monica Berrocal said...

He has a load of good feedback because that is the way he scams people.

He sells a 50$ item to 100 persons. The price is very good because his margin is also low, lets say 1$ per person. So in normal circumstances he would earn just 100$ with this transaction.

Now look at his feedback in the last month: 4.5% feedback is neutral or negative. And if you screen through the positive you will also see people that also has been scammed but that do not want risk to get a negative feedback from fastmemoryman. That means that approx 6 of 100 buyers have problems.

Now the scam works this way: what he does is that to 6 random buyers of the 100, he will send a peace of crap or nothing at all.
From that 6, one or two will get a Paypal refund, so only 4 are really scammed.

But the final result is that now his earnings have multiplied: 4x$50 from the scammed, plus 94x$1 from the OK selling, total $294 benefit instead of $100. And a load of good feedback.

In the last year he has bad feedback from around 6000 buyers. Multiply that for a mean transaction of $20 and you get a potential fraud of 120.000$.

Where is the FBI?

Anonymous said...

thanks PPSAURA for answering my question. by the way my items still havent arrived

Anonymous said...

He scammed me for around £100 by sending the wrong CPU. Stupidly i sent it back to him but never got the right one. DO NOT FALL FOR HIS WITHDRAW FEEDBACK EMAILS. He hates negative feedback and will do his best to get you to withdraw it.

I actually ordered an 8gb microSD card from fastmemoryman in January an received it in a timely manner. The transaction was bonded by buySafe and I have been using it since January in my HTC tilt with no problems at all. I only found these blag cause i was trying to find his site again to buy another. Makes me think twice... Looks like most of the people having trouble are from the UK. Maybe he just doesn't know how to ship properly outside the US?

I have raised a dispute with Paypal for my money back.
I waited 21 working days, i will not give Fastmemoryman the benefit of the doubt as I do not beleive a word he types.
I did receive 2 sticks of memory but the remainder has yet to appear.
I have left negative feedback for him in regards to the missing, but he just replies a bog standard "Please email me about the item in question".
Well I did email him.
I got a reply of "Your email will be answered in 12-36hrs".
It wasn't so I emailed again.
I got a reply of "Your email will be answered in 12-36hrs".
It wasn't again.
I then raised the dispute with Paypal and lo and behold I get a reply.

This just shows that he has no respect for his customers.
Also with the aid of a couple of friends we checked prices for CPU's.
We then waited until it was almost at the end of the bidding and placed bids for the CPU's at just the opening bids.
Just before the close of bidding the same ID bid for each and every CPU.
However we have searched past sales and have seen similar.
But no Feedback has ever been left for the CPU's in question.
One of my friends says that it is the seller bidding to keep the price up. I have said that we need definate evidence to support this.

Also under the distance selling in the UK to claim an item is in one country and to then send it from another is False Representation.

But to cover his arse he is registered in the US.
In the UK he has just changed his email address again. to

www.fmmebay@gmail.com

so feel free to email him with your complaints.

I seem to have been caught by this.

Bought some PC3200 ram for an old machine here. Item location listed as “united kingdom” as i only buy off UK sellers to save grief. Got suspicious when the item failed to arrive - it eventually turned up after 2 weeks having come from the USA via The netherlands and Germany.
Both ram modules were faulty and failed to even POST at any setting at all on 5 different systems. I check returns and now it seems i have to return it at MY expense to the USA ! Given that could well cost me more than the actual items i can see how this scam works in that it hopes most people won’t bother. On checking the chip identifiers on the modules it is also NOT micron ram despite the fact its sold as such.
Im about to open an ebay dispute based on this but from what ive read it seems i may have just lost my money.

For anyone considering buying from 'fastmemoryman' bear in mind that his descriptions are more then likely false/lies. I've just bought 4GB CF (280x 40mb/s) memory and didn't test it until seeing these posts. Looks like the best the memory will run at is ~110x 15mb/s. Avoid this guy!

I am thankful to you guys for logging this information as I reckon you have saved me a great deal of time and some money as I decided to check out this seller on google first. I have since sent this email to ebay:
"I asked the seller of this item a question regarding charging £6.00 to send an envelope containing a memory card, in that if I bought 2 would they not just put the modules in the same envelope? The reply was basically no (copy below). To charge £12.00 to send an envelope of the same size and weight as a £6.00 charge is clearly making profit from the P & P. In fact £6.00 is for one item is clearly doing this. I thought this was against ebay's policy. Further more I decided to do my own investigation of this seller due to his feedback and was amazed to find over 3 pages of sites specifically set up to report on fraudulent selling fastmemoryman has been involved with over the past few years. I can't believe you allow this person to trade when he has clearly been in breach of the rules time and time again. There can be only one reason for this and that is he makes eBay money while defrauding the public. Whereas I had once advertised one of my listings with the comment 'I reserve the right to withdraw the item before the end of the auction as I advertised it elsewhere also'.. and I had my listing cancelled and received a warning. How many times does this guy have to get away with his antics before you do something? Thanks to others I have saved myself from losing my money, but really it is YOU who should be doing something about this and closing this guy down. Or do you know him? Are you in partnership with him? Or do you just not care now that eBay effectively has no competition? I don't expect an answer or any action to be taken over this email as I realise I am dealing with a faceless organisation who has no concern for the members who made eBay what it is today. Bad form."
